60th Birthday Restaurant in Busan, Hanwoo in a Private Room for a 70th or a Parent's Birthday

There's one test for a 60th birthday restaurant in Busan: were your parents, the guests of honour, comfortable? The food can be great, but if they struggled up and down the stairs, the stairs are what they'll remember.

The same goes when you're looking for a 70th birthday dinner or a parent's birthday meal in Busan. Here's what to think about, followed by an introduction to HANWOO GOJIP in Gaya-dong, Busanjin-gu.

What to think about when choosing a 60th birthday restaurant in Busan

Getting in. First decide whether your parents are driving themselves or being brought by their children. If they're driving, parking matters. If the room is on the second floor, that can be hard on anyone with bad knees, so ask whether first-floor seating is possible. Sitting on the floor for a long time is tiring, so check that the seating is at tables too.

A private room. When you bring out the cake and celebrate, a room where you don't have to worry about the next table is more comfortable.

The menu. As people get older, they can't eat as much meat. A place with tender cuts plus soups and rice is best.

Headcount. Eight people at the start often becomes twelve. Check the maximum they can seat, and whether you can book out the space once you're past twenty.

Rooms and full booking. The second floor has private rooms (8–18 guests) divided by partition walls as well as an open area. For a big celebration like a 60th or 70th birthday party, you can book the entire second floor, and group seating goes up to 50 people. For 10 or more, we agree the menu in advance.

Getting in. The first floor is an open hall you walk into without any stairs, and the first floor is wheelchair accessible too. The second floor is reached by stairs only, so if anyone has difficulty walking, please tell us when you book. All seating is at tables. We have our own lot behind the restaurant, so your parents are welcome to drive themselves.

The menu. Only grade 1++ Hanwoo goes into the showcase. For a tender cut, we recommend the ribeye (₩24,000 per 100g). Our 1++ Hanwoo beef soup and the side dishes made in our own kitchen are unlimited refills, and for rice and noodle dishes we have doenjang-jjigae, makguksu, Hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap and Hanwoo beef gukbap.

Celebrating. We run a birthday event. Please ask about the details when you book.

Costs. Table charge ₩0, corkage ₩0. As a 60th birthday present, you can also order a Hanwoo gift set (cuts and weight arranged with the restaurant).
