Philosophy
HANWOO GOJIP Busan Gaya has stayed on this single block of Eomgwang-ro for twenty years, devoted only to grade 1++ Hanwoo. Guests pick their cut themselves at the showcase; we set the table to honor what's about to be grilled — a quiet, considered banchan composition. No side dish or sauce comes from a jar. Everything is made in our own kitchen and brought to the table by our own hands. Dressed, simmered, pickled, aged — every flavor that lands on your table is held to a standard we set ourselves. Which is why our banchan isn't a side. It's the rest of the meal — another act of care that completes what the Hanwoo started. No table charge. No corkage fee. Good beef, an honest table. This is how HANWOO GOJIP Busan Gaya has run a meat house for twenty years.

Grade Standard
Korea's highest Hanwoo grade

Korean Hanwoo Grade System
Korean beef tops out at 1++ No.9. Even the celebrated Hanwoo houses in Gangnam's Apgujeong and Dosan-daero typically work with No.7 or No.8 — at HANWOO GOJIP Busan Gaya, only No.9 goes into the showcase, every single day. Same grade. Lower price. A standard kept honestly, for twenty years in Gaya-dong.

VOICES
Came in for a special family dinner. A comfortable space, excellent banchan, and aged 1++ Hanwoo at a kind price. We fell for the complimentary side-dish spread — it rivals a Korean fine-dining course — and fell again for the beef itself.
The space itself is one of HANWOO GOJIP's real strengths. The first floor is open-plan; the second floor is entirely private rooms — perfect for an intimate gathering. When we visited, the rooms were filled with retirement dinners, family birthdays, and pre-marriage family meetings — all kinds of occasions.
The kkot-galbisal and galbisal are so tender they melt in your mouth. Parking is easy with their own lot plus a public lot right next door. The plating is careful, and the dining room is spotless.
We came for our baby's second birthday. The beef was great, the space was roomy, and they set up a high chair so we could relax with the baby. Plenty of parking, and the side dishes were clean and lovely.

The side dishes feel like a Korean fine-dining course — paprika and cucumber salad, potato salad, scallion salad, beef soup (made from 1++ Hanwoo, they told us), pickled onions, myeong-yi greens, soy-marinated crab. You could honestly fill up on the banchan alone.
The staff are wonderfully kind — they help with grilling tips and table setup, and they're great with families with kids. High chairs and children's tableware are ready, so eating out with little ones feels effortless.
A great spot for top-grade Hanwoo, near Gaya Park. As a butcher-style restaurant, you pick your own cut at the showcase — and the marbling and quality of the beef here are genuinely excellent.
The name HANWOO GOJIP — "devoted to Hanwoo" — really fits this place. The beef being great is a given, and it's affordable on top of that. The side dishes were better than what you'd get at a proper Korean fine-dining restaurant, and the makguksu was even better than the famous ones in Gangneung. The second-floor hall is perfect for group gatherings, and the interior is spotlessly clean.
