Few places in Busan have climbed travel lists as fast as Haeundae Blueline Park. Built on the abandoned tracks of the old Donghae Nambu Line, the route runs along the East Sea from Mipo through Cheongsapo to Songjeong — and it does so in two completely different ways: a pastel Sky Capsule gliding above the cliffs, and an open-window Beach Train rolling along the water.
Sky Capsule vs Beach Train
You can ride either one, but most travelers do both — they show the same coast from two different heights.
- Sky Capsule — a candy-colored monorail running 7–10m above the track. Each capsule holds up to 4 people as a private booking, perfect for couples, families, and small groups. Runs only between Mipo and Cheongsapo (about 30 minutes one way).
- Beach Train — runs the full Mipo → Cheongsapo → Songjeong route. With a hop-on/hop-off pass you can step off at any station, walk the beach, grab a coffee, and catch the next train.

When to go
- 10:00 — 11:00 a.m. — quietest light, softest colors for photos.
- 30 minutes before sunset (17:30–18:30, varies by season) — the sunset over the East Sea from this stretch of coast is something else.
- Weekend afternoons & summer high season can mean 1-hour waits. Book online in advance.
How to get there
- By car — public lot near Mipo Station; weekend mornings fill quickly.
- Subway — Line 2, Jung-dong Station Exit 7 → 10-minute walk.
- Bus — routes 100, 139, 141, 200, etc. Get off at "Mipo · Moontan Road."
Tips
- Reserve in advance. Walk-ups face 1-hour-plus queues. Book a specific time slot on the official site.
- Capsule one way, train the other. Most travelers take the Sky Capsule outbound and the Beach Train back — two angles, two altitudes.
- Watch the window glare. Press your camera close to the glass for cleaner shots.
- Dress for the coast. Sea breeze and UV are both strong here.

The sea pulls you along from Mipo to Songjeong. That slow, coastal hour is the real Busan.
