Busan is a port city, and its food shows it. Here is what to eat in Busan, from quick local classics to one special dinner.
Busan's famous foods
Dwaeji gukbap (pork rice soup) — Pork broth with sliced pork and rice. It's Busan's signature comfort food, cheap and filling.
Milmyeon (wheat cold noodles) — Busan's own cold noodles, made with wheat flour. Refreshing on a hot day.
Eomuk (fish cake) — Busan is famous for fish cakes. Try them on skewers from a street stall, or visit a fish cake shop.
Ssiat hotteok — A sweet pancake stuffed with seeds and nuts, a popular street snack.
Fresh seafood — Raw fish, grilled shellfish and more at the city's fish markets and beaches.
One dinner worth planning: Hanwoo
Most of Busan's famous foods are quick and casual. If you want one special meal, try Hanwoo, Korea's native beef. Koreans eat it for celebrations, and it's a different experience from Korean pork BBQ.
Hanwoo is priced per 100g and grilled at your table. The top grade is 1++.
